Why offer free music on this site?
We decided to offer free music to be heard by as many people as possible. We hope you enjoy it.
Great! So I can just download your music for free?
Yes. Yes you can. But please consider making a purchase or donation. If everyone that came to this site donated a dollar, we´d really have something amazing. But I´m not trying to guilt you into anything. Just relax and do what you think is fair. And if you can´t give actual dollars, you can help by spreading the word to everyone you know.
Can I use your music in my movie, podcast or student project...?
Yes, please. And I would love to see/hear it. All my music is released under an Attribution-Non Commercial-ShareAlike Creative Commons license that allows any kind of non-commercial re-use provided you: a) credit me and link to this site, b) don´t use it to make money and c) release the new work under the same Creative Commons license (this does not include songs with material that I don´t own, like covers). Really, no need to ask my permission, just go for it.
Can I send a copy to my friends? How about mix CD´s?
Yes! Even though this flies in the face of conventional thinking, we, along with the Creative Commons license, give you that right too.
What is this Creative Commons license thing you keep talking about?
The Creative Commons license is an incredible idea, and I think a real advantage to indy artists. The idea makes so much sense, and yet it´s so counter to the current thinking about intellectual property. It really brings back the idea of fair use and allows you to find new and exciting artists. This is a pretty cool idea. How can I help?
Besides buying my music and/or donating, you can help by spreading the word. This means putting together mix CD's and sending them to your friends and family, playing me on your podcasts, linking to my site, posting links on your blog, etc. Or, if you have any contacts in the media business, by all means mention my name. I am also happy to license my music for commercial projects, television, movies, whatever you need. Any opportunities you have, please let me know.
Is anyone else doing this?
I discovered a guy by the name of Jonathan Coulton. His site got us thinking about all of this. If you haven´t checked him out and heard his music, you need to do it now. He has a ton of great music for download and for sale. Click here to visit his site. Go now! Don´t worry, I´ll be here when you come back.
I purchased some music from your online store, and I can´t figure out how to get the downloads to work. What´s up with that?
Sorry to hear that. Just contact me and I will fix it for you.
